#1 How is Taekwondo different from other Martial Arts?

Taekwondo is characterized by its amazingly powerful and effective kicking techniques (70% kicking and 30% striking). Also Taekwondo is an Olympic Sport, Karate and Kung Fu are not.

 

#2 Am I too old or too young for training?

Students ranging in age from 2 to 102 can learn Taekwondo. Our classes are designed for various age groups and levels of proficiency.

 

#3 Will my child become a bully or too aggressive?

Actually just the opposite. Taekwondo teaches children how NOT to become bullies.  Taekwondo builds confidence and mental courage to turn away from fighting. Through self-control, strong will and determination children learn valuable life skills that they will carry with them to their adult lives.

 

#4 How long must I train in order to defend myself?

This depends on the individual's time and effort, but excellent results are seen in a short amount of time. Other benefits such as better health, increased energy and feelings of accomplishment begin immediately.

 

#5 How long will it take to get my Black Belt?

This also depends on the individual's time and effort and the number of classes attended. Generally, if you attend class regularly 2 to 3 times per week and practice at home several times per week, you will be able to pass the requirements for a Black Belt in 4 years.
